FAQ
Of course these are not real Frequently Asked Questions (they never are). Instead, this is more a background of what getting involved with me entails. If you have more questions after reading, you can ask them using the Contact Form. Enjoy!
What services do you offer?
I do almost anything involving music and/or graphic design. You can view a partial list of services and/or view a list of projects to see if you think I can help you out in some way.
What services do you not offer?
Now that is a great question! I do not generally:
- help you set up/troubleshoot your computer, e-mail, software installs/upgrades, etc.
- offer reviews/comparisons/opinions on computers, software, gear, etc. (you can, however, find some of those things in the blog)
- travel to perform/produce/record (exceptions can be made if I love your music, but I will never tour again - ever)
- find you money - I offer my services and I try to charge what you can afford (see the next FAQ), but I don't have a grant and loans applications service
What do you charge?
Generally, I like to charge whatever you can afford. If that happens to be zero-point-zero dollars then tell me. Don't be afraid to ask, I won't yell at you or laugh at you, we've all been there. I may, however, have to decline depending on my schedule at the time. That being said, there are sometimes options such as grants and loans, investors, etc. that you may not have considered. If we decide to work together I can point you in the right direction to try to get some funding (it's in my best interest too). Finally, read my post about start-up finances. If you contact me, I will ask you if you read it, and I'll know if you're lying.
Do you only work with artists and music industry types?
No. Although music is my first love and I often try to help struggling artists, I work with non-musician types all the time. If you need help, just ask. Not being in the music industry won't cause me to say no.
Can you work with an existing design?
Absolutely. In fact, sometimes I prefer it. I'm a decent designer, but my strength is really more on the technical side. Printing specifications, web development, and generally making things work is my forte. That being said, you can view some projects and decide for yourself if you want me to have a hand in the design. I also have designer and artist friends who sometimes help me out if they are interested in the project.
How busy are you?
I usually have 2-3 side projects on the go at any given time. Some take longer than others. You need to give me as much detail as you can about your project so I can be realistic about my commitment to you. In other words, I can rarely (if ever) do a rush job. I am usually quite good about getting back to you within a day or two if you fill out the contact form and we can take it from there.
I just have a quick question, can I e-mail you?
Sorry, no. I use my contact form for a reason. It may or may not be clear why, but it's my rule. You can, however, ask a question in the "Discussions" section of my Facebook page.
